It is a common asked question when it the best time to come to fly fish in Patagonia during the six months of our season, beginning in November and ending late April.
Our question would be: what is the kind of fly fishing that you enjoy the most?
Talking about streamers? November, the beginning of our season and March & April are the best months for them. n November big trout are hungry in higher & oxygen water after winter time. In March & April, fall season, big brown trout are active and getting ready for the spawining time.
Dry flies? December, January & February are our warmest months (summer) and it is the best choice for dry flies. December is the best time for big attractors, dragon flies are all over in our waters.
Nymphs? hopper droppers? Since mid December until the end of the season this is a very good technique with great results.
However all this fly fishing styles can be mixed anytime of the season. That’s fishing!
